Welcome to your Tortopia growing guide for Dandelion.
This page will help you grow, care for, harvest, and safely feed Dandelion to your tortoise.

Dandelions aren't just a "weed"—they're one of nature's most valuable wildflowers. Their leaves, flowers, and roots are all edible, making them a fantastic natural food source for tortoises and an important plant for pollinators like bees.

Keep the soil lightly moist while the seeds are germinating.
Try not to let the compost fully dry out, but also avoid overwatering as this can cause seeds or roots to rot.
This could be because they are too cold, too dry, too wet, or planted too deep.
They may need more light.

Harvest only when the plant has grown strong enough.
Cut leaves carefully rather than pulling the whole plant out, especially if you want it to regrow.
Wash before feeding to your tortoise.
